The intruders gained entry by breaking the door lock and thoroughly ransacked the cupboards, absconding with approximately Rs 55 lakh in cash and 1.5 kg of gold jewellery, estimated to be worth around Rs 1 crore.

Rajiv Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Nadi police station, verified the occurrence, stating they were alerted around 1 a.m. on Friday.

The police immediately launched an investigation, deploying a dog squad and fingerprint specialists to collect evidence from the scene. They are also analyzing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the offenders.

“An FIR has been filed based on Dilip Kumar Singh’s complaint, and the investigation is in progress. Initial evaluations indicate that the culprits were likely aware of the family’s absence due to the wedding, suggesting possible prior knowledge or surveillance,” the SHO noted.

According to the written complaint by Dilip Kumar, he and his family attended a wedding on Thursday night. Upon their return, they found the doors and cupboards broken, with valuables missing.

“Approximately Rs 55 lakh and 1.5 kg of gold jewellery valued around Rs 1 crore were stolen from our home. The gold ornaments taken were ancestral, gifted, and belonged to the women in the household,” Dilip Kumar stated.
